James Matusheski paints in a modern Americana aesthetic. His work is both energetic and quiet, balancing a tension between realistic renderings and surreal patterns and textures. This imagery is inspired by his travels and attempts and capture the New Americana; a world both lived in and yet abandoned. His work interprets themes of isolation, the perspective of a single individual, and the passage of time.
